Label photos, pantry snapshots and the unsynced local app copy remain under your browser or device storage.
HELP WITHOUT THE HOMEWORK
Start small.
Let the kitchen get smarter.
Everything important can be learned one shelf, one meal and one grocery trip at a time.Your kitchen data is not our product.
No selling personal information. No advertising profiles. No data brokers. No promotional spam from creating an account. Private kitchen media stays on your device; the minimum account record and pantry text you choose to synchronize are the only routine online records.
Email, protected login/session records, membership and pantry text you choose to synchronize.
The selected receipt is processed for that request, never silently added to your Pantry account.
Install the private Pantry app
Use Safari’s Add to Home Screen so the same device storage and TP icon open every time.
- Visit tessaspantry.com/pantry in Safari
- Tap Share → Add to Home Screen
- Keep the name Tessa’s Pantry
- Open the TP icon whenever you use the app
Start your kitchen inventory
Begin with the refrigerator, freezer and anything that expires soon. Ten ingredients is enough for day one.
- Open Add Ingredient
- Choose Pantry, Refrigerator or Freezer
- Add quantity, unit and optional package date
- Save the ingredient
Edit, restock or remove an ingredient
Every ingredient card can be corrected without starting over.
- Open Ingredients
- Use search or a storage-zone filter
- Tap Edit to change brand, barcode, quantity, date or notes
- Use the quantity buttons for quick updates
- Delete only after confirming the warning
Scan one grocery barcode
Use the rear camera or type a UPC, EAN or GTIN. Product details come from a public food database and remain editable.
- Open Scan
- Choose the rear camera or enter the number
- Hold the barcode steady inside the guide
- Review the returned name, brand and category
- Correct anything uncertain before importing
Read a grocery receipt privately
Receipt reading sends only the receipt you deliberately choose for one AI request. The photo is not added to your Pantry account.
- Open Scan → Receipt
- Choose a photo or paste receipt text
- Wait for the review list
- Correct names, quantities, storage zones and dates
- Uncheck anything you do not want
- Import only the approved details
Find a meal from what you own
Meals ranks ideas by ingredient match, time and foods that should be used first.
- Open Meals
- Review the match percentage
- Open a meal to see ready and missing ingredients
- Tap Make This
- Add only the missing items to Grocery
Rescue food before it is forgotten
Use Soon surfaces ingredients by the dates you entered and connects them to flexible meal ideas.
- Open Use Soon
- Choose an ingredient
- Review meals that can use it
- Tap I Used One after cooking
- Use Buy Again only when you want it on Grocery
Build and use the grocery list
The list combines your own additions with missing meal ingredients.
- Open Grocery
- Add an item by name
- Use Add Missing from a meal
- Check items while shopping
- Review newly purchased items before adding them to inventory
Plan the week
Choose one dinner per day. The plan shows readiness and keeps meal gaps visible.
- Open Plan
- Choose a meal for each day
- Open a meal to inspect ingredients
- Add missing items to Grocery
- Change the meal at any time
Set household and dietary preferences
Preferences help rank ideas; they are planning filters, not allergy or medical safeguards.
- Open Profile
- Choose household size
- Select only useful dietary filters
- Verify every label yourself for allergies
- Remember that signed-in pantry text may synchronize
Understand privacy and account data
Private kitchen media is device-first. A minimal protected account record supports sign-in, and pantry text synchronizes only when signed in.
- Read the privacy banner inside the app
- Open the Privacy Policy for the complete data map
- Remember: no data sales, advertising profiles or promotional spam from joining
- Sign out when using a shared device
- Email a Privacy Request if you want account access, correction or deletion
Troubleshoot safely
Most problems involve camera permission, poor barcode focus, a different browser, offline services or incorrect receipt extraction.
- Confirm you opened the same TP Home Screen icon
- Check Safari camera permission
- Try typed barcode entry if the camera cannot focus
- Correct receipt results instead of trusting them blindly
- Do not clear browser data while diagnosing local information
